“Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything.” Philippians 4-6

I told my Mom’s of Faith group the other day that this verse gives me a very clear visual. I see myself in my mind, taking a black sack of everything that I’m worried about, throwing it over my shoulder for momentum, then throwing it as far as I can into God’s huge, extended hand. Sometimes I just throw it away from me and in my mind’s eye, I just watch as it flies out of sight.

Regardless of the exact imagery this prayer reminds us of, it’s a release of fears onto someone who can not only handle them but who can be our placeholder in pain. Not just a placeholder but someone who promises supernatural power to work on our circumstances. He’s both incredibly personal and supremely powerful.

Releasing our prayers to God, all our hopes, pain, truth, and fears, creates a opportunity to find real peace when we offer real surrender.

My hope for all of us is to take all our worries and concerns and offer them up to God today so we can rest, together in faith. ❤️ Erin
